What to Carry on Exam Day

  • Carry the printed e-Admit Card. A copy on a phone screen is not accepted.
  • Carry the same photo identity document whose number is printed on the admit card.
  • Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed on the admit card, because gates close before the examination begins.
  • Mobile phones, smart watches and any electronic device are prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • If the photograph on the admit card is unclear, carry two identical passport-sized photographs as the Commission's instructions require.

How to Download the Admit Card

  1. 1Open upsc.gov.in and go to the What's New or Admit Card section.
  2. 2Select the link for "e-Admit Card: Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026".
  3. 3Choose whether to log in by Registration ID or by Roll Number.
  4. 4Enter the chosen identifier along with your date of birth and submit.
  5. 5Check every detail on the admit card, especially your name, centre and the date and session of each paper.
  6. 6Download the file and take at least two printouts on A4 paper, keeping one spare.
