About This Recruitment

Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has notified recruitment for 326 posts under Advt. No. 03/2026 (JILCCE). Applications are accepted online from 05 Aug 2026 to 04 Sept 2026. The prescribed qualification is Class 12 with Science, Mathematics or Biology, depending on the post, and the age limit is 18 to 35 years before category relaxation is applied. The vacancies are spread across 6 distinct posts, and the category-wise split for each is set out in the vacancy table below.
Selection is made through Preliminary examination, Main examination and Merit list, followed by the remaining stages set out below. Selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of Pay Band PB-1, ₹5,200 – ₹20,200 with grade pay of ₹1,800 to ₹2,400. The place of posting is Jharkhand.
The application fee is ₹100 for General and EWS, and no fee is payable by PwBD with 40% or more disability. The entire process is completed online, from registration through to fee payment and the final printout of the confirmation page. A correction window is available after applications close, and it is the only opportunity to amend most fields — details are in the dates table below.
Read the official notification in full before you begin the form. Eligibility, fees and dates are revised through corrigenda more often than candidates expect, and an application submitted against the wrong criteria is rejected at document verification rather than at submission — by which point the cycle is over.

Vacancy counts are provisional and are revised through corrigenda. The category-wise split determines the cut-off you will actually be measured against.

| Fishery Technical Assistant — Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation | 41 |

Educational Qualification
The qualification must be held on or before the cut-off date stated in the notification. Final-year candidates should check whether provisional applications are permitted for this recruitment.
| Post | Required Qualification |
|---|---|
| Health Supervisor, Multipurpose Health Worker and Insect Collector | Class 12 with Science, or I.Sc., from a recognised institution. |
| Junior Regional Investigator | Intermediate or Class 12 with Mathematics. |
| Veterinary and Medical Assistant, and Fishery Technical Assistant | Intermediate in Life Sciences with Biology from a recognised college or institution. |
- The age reference date is not the same for every post — Health Supervisor uses 1 August 2023 while Junior Regional Investigator uses 1 August 2025.
- The preliminary paper deducts a full mark for each wrong answer against 3 marks for a right one, so guessing is expensive.
- Main Paper 1 does not count towards merit. Only the regional language and general knowledge papers do.
Age Limit & Relaxation
Upper age limits are relaxed by category. Read the row that applies to you before you conclude you are ineligible.
| Category | Upper Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC and ST | Upper age 40 years |
| Women of the Unreserved, EWS and EBC categories | Upper age 38 years |
| EBC and BC men | Upper age 37 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities | 10 years over the category limit |
The reference date differs by post — 1 August 2023 for Health Supervisor, 1 August 2025 for Junior Regional Investigator, and 1 August 2023 or 2024 for the rest. Check the notification for the post you are applying to.
Pay Scale
Figures are the pay scale, not take-home pay. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances are paid over and above the basic pay shown.
| Post | Pay Scale |
|---|---|
| All posts | Pay Band PB-1, ₹5,200 – ₹20,200 with grade pay of ₹1,800 to ₹2,400 |
Selection Process
Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
- 1Preliminary examination — a computer-based test of 120 questions over two hours
- 2Main examination — three computer-based papers of two hours each
- 3Merit list — drawn from the marks in Main Papers 2 and 3
- 4Document verification
Exam Pattern
Understanding the marking scheme is worth as much as the syllabus — attempt strategy depends on the negative marking below.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preliminary — objective | 120 | 360 | 2 hours |
| Main Paper 1 — Language Knowledge, qualifying only | — | — | 2 hours |
| Main Paper 2 — Regional and Tribal Language | 100 | — | 2 hours |
| Main Paper 3 — General Knowledge | 120 | — | 2 hours |
The preliminary paper carries **3 marks a question with 1 mark deducted for a wrong answer**, and needs 40% for General candidates and 32% for SC and ST. In the main examination each paper needs 30%, but the **final merit is built from Papers 2 and 3 alone** — Paper 1 is only qualifying.
