Educational Qualification
The qualification must be held on or before the cut-off date stated in the notification. Final-year candidates should check whether provisional applications are permitted for this recruitment.

- There is no written test. The merit formula is fixed: 30% from Class 10 and 70% from your degree, diploma or ITI marks.
- Class 10 marks count for nearly a third of the score, so they matter even for degree holders.
- For diploma and degree apprentices, half the stipend comes from the plant and half from BOPT under DBT.
- Trade and diploma or degree candidates register on different portals — apprenticeshipindia.org for ITI trades, nats.education.gov.in for the rest.
- COPA and Welder trades carry a lower stipend than the other trades.

Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
