About This Recruitment

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has notified recruitment for 839 posts under Advt. No. 737, Notification No. 06/2026 dated 7 July 2026. Applications are accepted online from 17 Jul 2026 to 15 Aug 2026. The prescribed qualification is A diploma, ITI certificate, National Trade Certificate or degree in the relevant technical field. The vacancies are spread across 6 distinct posts, and the category-wise split for each is set out in the vacancy table below.
Selection is made through Written examination, Onscreen certificate verification and Physical verification, followed by the remaining stages set out below. Selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of Levels 8 to 15 of the 7th Pay Commission matrix, depending on the post. The place of posting is Departments across Tamil Nadu.
The application fee is ₹150, valid five years for One Time Registration — all candidates, and no fee is payable by SC, ST, MBC, BC, PwD, Ex-Servicemen and destitute widows. The entire process is completed online, from registration through to fee payment and the final printout of the confirmation page. A correction window is available after applications close, and it is the only opportunity to amend most fields — details are in the dates table below.
Read the official notification in full before you begin the form. Eligibility, fees and dates are revised through corrigenda more often than candidates expect, and an application submitted against the wrong criteria is rejected at document verification rather than at submission — by which point the cycle is over.

- The Tamil eligibility test must be cleared at 40% but contributes nothing to your rank.

Pay Scale
Figures are the pay scale, not take-home pay. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances are paid over and above the basic pay shown.

| Motor Vehicle Inspector Grade II, Assistant Manager and Radio Supervisor | Level 13 | 7th CPC matrix |
| Junior Training Officer and Technical Assistant | Level 11 | 7th CPC matrix |
| Other technical posts | Levels 8 to 10 | 7th CPC matrix |
Selection Process
Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
- 1Written examination — Paper I in OMR mode and Paper II as a computer-based test, on 450 counted marks
- 2Onscreen certificate verification
- 3Physical verification
- 4Counselling
Exam Pattern
Understanding the marking scheme is worth as much as the syllabus — attempt strategy depends on the negative marking below.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I — Tamil eligibility test, general studies and aptitude, OMR | 200 | 300 | 3 hours |
| Paper II — diploma or ITI subject paper, computer-based | 200 | 300 | 3 hours |
**450 marks count towards the ranking** — Part A of Paper I is a Tamil eligibility test that must be cleared at 40%, that is 60 marks, but does not count towards merit. **Both papers must be attended.**
