About This Recruitment

Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board has notified recruitment for 7,112 posts under Rc. No. 189/Rect./Rect-2/2026. Applications are accepted online from 19 Aug 2026 to 09 Sept 2026. The prescribed qualification is Intermediate or an equivalent examination, with an LMV driving licence for Fire Fighter, and the age limit is 18 to 21 years before category relaxation is applied. The vacancies are spread across 7 distinct posts, and the category-wise split for each is set out in the vacancy table below.
Selection is made through Preliminary written test, Physical measurement test and Physical efficiency test, followed by the remaining stages set out below. Selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of ₹24,280 – ₹72,850. The place of posting is Telangana.
The entire process is completed online, from registration through to fee payment and the final printout of the confirmation page. Check the notification for whether a correction window is offered, because most fields cannot be amended once the form is submitted.
Read the official notification in full before you begin the form. Eligibility, fees and dates are revised through corrigenda more often than candidates expect, and an application submitted against the wrong criteria is rejected at document verification rather than at submission — by which point the cycle is over.

| Reserved categories | As set out in the notification |
Age is reckoned as on 1 July 2026 — 18 to below 22 years. Serving uniformed personnel get five years more, with category relaxations on top.
Pay Scale
Figures are the pay scale, not take-home pay. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances are paid over and above the basic pay shown.
| Post | Pay Scale |
|---|---|
| All posts in this notification | ₹24,280 – ₹72,850 |
Selection Process
Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
- 1Preliminary written test — 200 objective questions over three hours, with negative marking
- 2Physical measurement test
- 3Physical efficiency test
- 4Final written examination — three hours, of 200 or 100 marks depending on the post code
- 5Certificate verification and selection on merit
Exam Pattern
Understanding the marking scheme is worth as much as the syllabus — attempt strategy depends on the negative marking below.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Preliminary written test — objective, OMR | 200 | 200 | 3 hours |
| Final written examination — post codes 21, 26, 27 and 28 | — | 200 | 3 hours |
| Final written examination — post codes 22, 23 and 25 | — | 100 | 3 hours |
The preliminary test **deducts 20% of a mark for each wrong answer** and needs 30% for OC and EWS, 25% for BC and 20% for SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen. The final written examination needs 40%, 35% and 30% for the same groups.
