About This Recruitment

Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has notified recruitment for 208 posts under Advt. No. 15-Pariksha/2026, dated 24 July 2026. Applications are accepted online from 27 Jul 2026 to 17 Aug 2026. The prescribed qualification is A B.Sc. or B.Tech in a biology, physical science, chemistry or computer science stream, with a valid PET-2025 score, and the age limit is 21 to 40 years before category relaxation is applied. The vacancies are spread across 2 distinct posts, and the category-wise split for each is set out in the vacancy table below.
Selection is made through Shortlisting on the normalised PET-2025 score, Main examination and Tie-break, followed by the remaining stages set out below. Selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 at Level 6 for Scientific Assistant; ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 at Level 4 for Lab Assistant. The place of posting is Forensic Science Laboratories, Uttar Pradesh.
The application fee is ₹25 for All categories — online processing fee. The entire process is completed online, from registration through to fee payment and the final printout of the confirmation page. A correction window is available after applications close, and it is the only opportunity to amend most fields — details are in the dates table below.
Read the official notification in full before you begin the form. Eligibility, fees and dates are revised through corrigenda more often than candidates expect, and an application submitted against the wrong criteria is rejected at document verification rather than at submission — by which point the cycle is over.

Pay Scale
Figures are the pay scale, not take-home pay. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances are paid over and above the basic pay shown.

| Scientific Assistant | Level 6 | ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 |
| Lab Assistant (Prayogshala Sahayak) | Level 4 | ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 |
Selection Process
Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
- 1Shortlisting on the normalised PET-2025 score — at fifteen times the vacancies per category
- 2Main examination — 100 objective questions over 120 minutes
- 3Tie-break — an M.Sc. in a relevant subject, a higher computer science qualification, or two years' Territorial Army service
- 4Document verification
Exam Pattern
Understanding the marking scheme is worth as much as the syllabus — attempt strategy depends on the negative marking below.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part 1 — Forensic Science | 25 | 25 | — |
| Part 3 — Uttar Pradesh general knowledge | 20 | 20 | — |
| Part 2 — Computer and Information Technology | 15 | 15 | — |
| Part 1 — Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, ten questions each | 40 | 40 | — |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 120 minutes |
**A quarter of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer.** Candidates are shortlisted for the main examination on their **normalised PET-2025 score**, at fifteen times the vacancies per category.
