About This Recruitment

All India Institute of Medical Sciences has notified recruitment for 2,218 posts under NORCET-11, Advt. No. 103/2026. Applications are accepted online from 24 Jul 2026 to 13 Aug 2026. The prescribed qualification is B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing with council registration, or a GNM diploma with registration and two years' hospital experience, and the age limit is 18 to 30 years before category relaxation is applied.
Selection is made through Stage I, Stage II and Qualifying marks. Selected candidates are placed in the pay scale of Level 7 of the pay matrix — ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400. The place of posting is AIIMS New Delhi and the participating AIIMS institutes and hospitals across India. The examination is currently scheduled for 12 Sept 2026, which leaves a defined window to work back from when planning preparation.
The application fee is ₹3,000 for General and OBC, and no fee is payable by PwBD. The entire process is completed online, from registration through to fee payment and the final printout of the confirmation page. Check the notification for whether a correction window is offered, because most fields cannot be amended once the form is submitted.
Read the official notification in full before you begin the form. Eligibility, fees and dates are revised through corrigenda more often than candidates expect, and an application submitted against the wrong criteria is rejected at document verification rather than at submission — by which point the cycle is over.

Vacancy Details
Vacancy counts are provisional and are revised through corrigenda. The category-wise split determines the cut-off you will actually be measured against.
| Post Name | Total |
|---|---|
| Nursing Officer | 2,218 |
Educational Qualification
The qualification must be held on or before the cut-off date stated in the notification. Final-year candidates should check whether provisional applications are permitted for this recruitment.
| Post | Required Qualification |
|---|---|
| Nursing Officer | A B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing degree with Nursing Council registration; or a GNM diploma with registration and two years' experience in a hospital of at least 50 beds. |
- Stage I carries no weight in the final merit. Everything depends on the 160-question Stage II paper on 30 September.
- A GNM diploma alone is not enough — it must be paired with two years' experience in a hospital of at least 50 beds. A B.Sc. Nursing needs no experience.
- No correction is permitted after submission. Check the form before you confirm it.
- NORCET-11 fills posts across many AIIMS institutes at once — a single application covers the participating hospitals.
Age Limit & Relaxation
Upper age limits are relaxed by category. Read the row that applies to you before you conclude you are ineligible.
| Category | Upper Age Relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC | 3 years |
| PwBD | 10 years, subject to a maximum age of 56 |
| PwBD (OBC) | 13 years, subject to a maximum age of 56 |
| PwBD (SC / ST) | 15 years, subject to a maximum age of 56 |
| Ex-Servicemen | Length of military service plus 3 years |
| Central Government employees | 5 years |
Age is reckoned as on 13 August 2026, the closing date for registration, with the category relaxations shown below.
Pay Scale
Figures are the pay scale, not take-home pay. Dearness allowance, house rent allowance and other allowances are paid over and above the basic pay shown.
| Post | Pay Level | Pay Scale |
|---|---|---|
| Nursing Officer | Level 7 | ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 |
Selection Process
Each stage is qualifying for the next. Clearing a stage does not carry marks forward unless the notification says so.
- 1Stage I — a qualifying paper of 100 questions: 20 on general knowledge and aptitude and 80 on nursing subjects
- 2Stage II — a case-scenario paper of 160 questions testing clinical competency; the merit list is drawn from this stage alone
- 3Qualifying marks — Stage I is at the 50th percentile for UR and EWS, 45th for OBC and 40th for SC and ST; Stage II requires 50%, 45% and 40% respectively
Exam Pattern
Understanding the marking scheme is worth as much as the syllabus — attempt strategy depends on the negative marking below.
| Section | Questions | Marks | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage I — Preliminary | 100 | 100 | 90 minutes |
| Stage II — Main | 160 | 160 | 180 minutes |
**The final merit rests entirely on Stage II.** Stage I is qualifying only — it decides who sits the main paper and nothing more. One third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer in both stages.
